Comments:
The latex produced by this genus is extremely toxic. The fruits are well enjoyed by berry-eating birds and flowers are pollinated by various insects. Surprisingly, hole-nesting birds enjoy this species as a nest site, woodpeckers often making a home in dead sections of these trees.
