Comments: The fever tree owes its peculiar name to its natural habitat, early pioneers associated the fever tree rather than the swamps it grew near to the fever caused by malaria that mosquitos, breeding in these swamps, spread. It can reach 25m in height and produces flowers from August to November. The pods are eaten by giraffes and vervet monkeys.
