Comments:
This stemless aloe occurs in a wide range of habitats, including Albany Thicket, Succulent Karoo, Fynbos, Nama Karoo and Grassland. Only one of its three subspecies is considered threatened. These aloes have medicinal, commercial and ornamental value. Indistinct teeth and faint spots on the leaves are used to distinguish hybrids from the original species. The name "striata" refers to the longitudinal leaves of this species. The leaves lack the spines common on most aloes and instead have a smooth attractive pinkish margin without any teeth.
