Comments: This species is has only been found at a few sites within a wide range in Limpopo and Mpumalanga, and it is possible that it is more common than currently known. It grows on partially shaded slopes and outcrops in hot savanna vegetation. The plants are able to withstand drought and heat because the outer leaves protect the growing tips.
