Comments:
Probably the most common cycad in cultivation, tragically this species is still threatened by ongoing wild collecting, with natural populations of less than 10,000 and declining. This cycad grows up to 7 m tall and may be branched or unbranched. There are no prickles at the base of the leaf which distinguishes it from Encephalartos natalensis.
