Life form: Evergreen perennial
Comments: Lotononis villosa is rare and poorly known with only a few, widely scattered records. It has not been recorded in the northern and eastern Swartland since 1951. There are a few recent observations from lowland renosterveld fragments in the Overberg. The population is severely fragmented and declining due to ongoing habitat loss and degradation.
