Comments: S. formosus are evergreen groundcover perennials that grow naturally in forests that are hot and humid in summer, and warm and dry in winter. Found on forest margins. Likely threatened by forest degradation. Degradation may be due to alien invasive encroachment and firewood harvesting. Otherwise, populations exist in protected areas or inaccessible locations.
