Taxon

Stenochlaena tenuifolia

.
.
Family: Lomariopsidaceae
Distribution: Eastern Cape to Kenya, Madagascar
Habitat: Humid forest, more common coastal than inland
National red list: Least Concern
Life form: Epiphytic
Comments: This is a dimorphic fern species with quite different sterile and fertile frond structures. The species name tenuifolia means "thin or slender-leaved", probably describing the finely divided pinnules of the fertile frond rather than the broader pinnules of the normal sterile fronds.
