Comments: This species has variable but striking and recognisable flowers. The most memorable forms are those with iridescent, deep blue or emerald centers. These forms are what has earned this species the common name "peacock flower". Although this species is widespread and abundant, and not considered threatened itself, it is typically found in the most threatened seasonally wet lowland habitats.
