Taxon

Oedera fruticosa

.
.
Family: Asteraceae (Aster)
Distribution: Southwestern Cape, from Piketberg to Gordon’s Bay
Habitat: Seasonally damp renosterveld flats
National red list: Near Threatened
Life form: Shrub / sub-shrub
Comments: This silvery shrublet inhabits seasonally damp renosterveld flats in the Southwestern Cape. Like all members of the daisy family, what looks like a single flower is really numerous tiny, spirally arranged flowers. Although still common in some habitat remnants, the continued destruction of habitat threatens its survival.
