Comments: Oncostele, abbreviated Ons., is a hybrid (cultivar) genus of orchids containing at least one ancestor species from the genera Oncidium (Onc.) and Rhynchostele (Rst.).The nothogenus was defined in 2003 (“Oncostele” 2019).
'Wildcat' is a very popular Oncostele hybrid registered in 1992 with a huge variety of colour patterns, bred from complex multiple crosses between 9 orchid species: 1 Rhynchostele, and 8 Oncidiums (Maria’s Orchids 2016).
