Habitat: Coastal forest margins, wooded ravines and sandstone cliffs and outcrops, and along streams.

Life form: Evergreen shrub / sub-shrub
Usage: Horticultural
Comments: A good horticultural subject for smaller summer rainfall gardens that responds well to pruning and can be kept 3-5m in height, although in its natural forested habitat at can reach 10 m or more.
The hard, termite-resistant wood is traditionally used to make spoons.
