Comments:
The Xhosa common name, umFeze, refers to the spittle-bug that often infests the tree. The leaves and bark are used to treat various ailments in humans, while the Swazi people use the bark to treat gall sickness in cattle. Fruits are poisonous, but are eaten by birds such as forest weavers, cinnamon doves, green pigeons and hornbills.
