Comments:
This terrestrail fern is endemic to New Zealand, where it grows in moist lowland forests. It is distinguished by adventitious buds, called gemmae, which produce little plantlets on the tip of the fronds. When the fronds become old and droopy, it touches the soil and the plantlets are able to grow as individual plants.
