Comments: Typically robust in its natural habitat, this species grows vigorously and sprawls across whichever Savanna species neighbors them, creating a maze of hair-like spines full of cream flowers in summer.
It has historically been eaten as part of meals and used medicinally by indigenous Zulu tribes in South Africa whereas people in Tanzania, Kenya and Ethiopia recognize the species as poisonous.
