Washingtonia robusta

.
.
Common name: Garingpalm, Green-leaved petticoat palm, Mexican fan palm, Mexican Washingtonia, Thread palm
Family: Arecaceae (Palm)
Distribution: Mexico
IUCN Red list: Least concern
Life form: Palm
Comments: The Mexican fan palm is a fast-growing, long-lived species that can reach 30 meters in height and several hundred years in age in its natural habitat. Dead leaves don’t drop off the plant, but fold back to give the plant a dense skirt. Despite being common in cultivation, this species is not currently threatened by habitat loss or overexploitation.
